Scarpino, Eugene U. “Geno”, 93, formerly of Richland. Died February 10, 2017 at Laurel View Village. Born August 26, 1923 in Pittsburgh. Son of Lorenzo and Mary (Colosimo) Scarpino. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 62 years Gloria M. (Henry); son, William; daughter, Pamela; brothers, Albert, Vincent, George, Lawrence, twin brother Carl; and sister, Clementine. Survived by son, Christopher Scarpino, Cambridge, MA; and daughter, Mary E., wife of Cameron Mock, Davidsville, PA; grandchildren, Kevin A. Mock married to Christy (Noble), North Las Vegas, NV, Eric R. Mock, Baltimore, MD, and Emery S. Mock married to Alyshia (Brehm), Tire Hill, PA; sister, Angela Lang of Baltimore, MD. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II, where he served as a gunner. Retired engineer from People’s Natural Gas Company, where he was active in GasCo. Eugene was an avid gardener and golfer, and shared his love of both with his grandsons. He was also a talented painter and shared his paintings with people all over the country. Former member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, where he helped with the Reunions and participated in the duck pin bowling league. Eugene loved his family, travelling, wine and the beach. He lived life to the fullest and brought joy to everyone he knew and loved his family unconditionally. Friends received Monday from 5-8 PM at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM, St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, pastor.
