Gertz, Ethel E., 82, of Richland Township. Went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on August 16, 1930 in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Alex and Anna (Kovalsky) Stanish. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ernest E.Gertz; and brother, Donald (Peggy) Stanish, Florida; niece, Stacey Stanish (Jason) Butler; and nephew, Steven (Lisa) Stanish. Also survived by Bubbaâs little angels, Ava and Drew; numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. Member of St. Maryâs Byzantine Catholic Church, Windber. She was well known for her decorating skills. Ethel and Ernie were co-owners of Young American Furniture for 30 years. Ethel was an Honorary Life Member of the Richland Fire Co. where she volunteered much time decorating the banquet room for fundraising activities as a member of the East Hills Charities Committee for more than 25 years. She was always willing to help others. Ethel was known for her classy dress, high energy and enjoying many area restaurants with her friends. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Memorial Service will be held at 5 P.M. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Saturday at St. Maryâs Byzantine Catholic Church, Power St. Johnstown. Msgr. Raymond Balta, Officiating. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
