Ethel M. Constable

Constable – Ethel M., 91, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2017 at Laurel View Village, Davidsville. Born on July 9, 1926 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Ziesman) Grove. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Theodore Stoner; 2nd husband, Bruce M. Constable; sisters, Clara Hogan and Pauline Hastings, and a brother, Charles Grove. Survived by her loving child, Cheryl (Stoner) Edmiston and husband, Calvin, of Utica, NY. Also survived by grandchildren, Dr. Dawn Edmiston-Strasser, and her husband, Dr. Christopher Strasser, Gloucester, VA; Michelle (Edmiston) Richards, and her husband, Steve Miller, Richland Township. Ethel was a graduate of Johnstown High School. She retired after 25 years of service from Thrift Drug Store, where she was employed as a cosmetologist. Ethel was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, gardening, reading, and needlepointing. Many of her Hummel inspired needlepoint images were donated to Laurel View Village and have been enjoyed by residents and families for many years. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Bassette officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be donated to either Laurel View Village, 2000 Cambridge Drive, Davidsville, PA,15928 or to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA, 15963 in memory of Ethel.
