Ethel Irene Balamuta

Balamuta – Ethel Irene, 93, of Bon Air, went peacefully to be with God on August 13, 2021. Born October 1, 1927 in Johnstown, daughter of Anton and Helen (Hockycko) Korber. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen Balamuta Sr., “Moochie”; infant daughter, Pamela Jean; siblings, Karl, Victor, Ronald, John, Larry and Jimmy, Helen Plis, Betty Holland, Evelyn Smay, and Lois P. Coffman; daughter-in-law, Debbie Meyers, and special sister-in-law, Mary (Skakunik) Balamuta. Survived by her loving children; Barbara, wife of William Tollis, Dilltown, Steve, Jr., married to the former Kimberly Horner, Johnstown, Greg, Sr., Johnstown. Also survived by daughter, Deborah Szczur, Johnstown; grandchildren, Billy, April, wife of Tim Girolami, Steve, married to Asley, Gregory, Josh, married to Marielle, Kayla and fiancé, Cyrus Benson, Wendy, and TJ; great-grandchildren, Gio Girolami, Brooklyn, Stephen IV, Olivia, Ava, Caidyn, Grayson, McKenna, Shanice, and Kayleigh Benson; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Ethel is the last surviving member of her family. Member of Ss. Gregory & Barnabas Parish, Bon Air. She enjoyed baking, cooking and talking with her friends. Most of all, Ethel loved spending time with her family. Her family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Personal Care for their loving care. Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Ss. Gregory & Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, Fr. Calistus Elue, Pastor. Committal service will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Ss.
