Emma L. Mesteller

Mesteller – Emma L., “Em”, 89, East Conemaugh Borough, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2017 at Westmont Woods. Born on May 3, 1928 in Johnstown, daughter of Ross and Frances (Corriero) Pingatore. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph and Tony; sister-in-law, Rossary, and a brother-in-law, Walter Buchan. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Julius P. Mesteller, East Conemaugh Borough; children, Susan, wife of James Wagner, Pittsburgh, PA, Doug, East Conemaugh, Neal, married to the former Joani Bordak, Seward, and Gail, wife of John Drzewiecki, Bennington, VT; grandchildren, Brian and Aaron Mesteller, Melissa (Josh) Spinelli and Cory Mesteller, married to the former Jenna Pallo, and Christopher, Olivia, and Morgan Drzewiecki; great grandson, Julius John Mesteller; sisters, Yolanada Buchan, Parkhill, and Angie, wife of Richard Polonkey, Parkhill; brother, Joseph, married to the former Rose Macri, Somerset; sisters-in-law, Irene Strayer and Maggie Johnson both of Johnstown and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was a 1945 graduate of East Conemaugh High School. She was employed in the grocery department and later as a seamstress at the former Penn Traffic. After leaving Penn Traffic she went to work at Insley’s Department Store and later retired from JC Penney, where she was employed as a seamstress. Emma was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration, where she volunteered for many years. She enjoyed going the family camp at Raystown Lake. Emma loved spending time with her entire family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall. Pastor. Committal will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
