Emma F. Griffith

Griffith – Emma F., 96, Vinco, PA, went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2024. Born on October 5, 1927 in Johnstown, daughter of Nelson and Ruth (Miller) Funk. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack D. Griffith; son, Douglas J.; sister, Phyllis Shoenthal; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, D. Robert and Joyce Griffith. 

She is survived by her loving children, Christine A. Griffith, Johnstown, Daniel N. (Christina), Greensboro, NC, and Dale A. (Stephanie), Johnstown; grandchildren, Claire K. Griffith, Raleigh, NC, Jackson D. Griffith, Knoxville, TN, and Lauren B. Griffith, Greensboro, NC; sister-in-law, Patricia (Wendell) Kent, Colorado Springs, CO; brother-in-law, Donald R. Shoenthal, Murrysville, PA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Emma was a graduate of East Conemaugh High School. She retired from the former Mercy Hospital as a nurse in the X-ray department. Emma was a member of Pike Grace Brethren Church. She enjoyed knitting, and reading, but especially loved spending time with her family. 

 At Emma’s request, there will be no public viewing. Private burial will be at Pike Grace Cemetery, Mundys Corner. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
