Ella Joyce Shaffer

Shaffer, Ella Joyce “Biggy”, 79, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord Sept. 13, 2015.  Born June 2, 1936 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Myrtle V. (Crotzer) Swartz.  Preceded in death by husband E. Daniel Shaffer; sister Alice Lemons; and brother Robert Swartz.  Survived by love of her life, G. Herbert Marshall; sons Gary (Kimberly), Terry (Cathie), Todd (Tricia), Timothy (Danielle) Shaffer and daughter Danna Porada (Christopher); Grandchildren Amanda Thompson (Eric), Lindsey Spishak (Joshua), Daniel, Alex, Shannon, Adam, Emily, and Troy Shaffer, Tye and Paige Porada, and Justin and Nicholas Wissinger;  Great grandsons Samuel and Nolan Thompson.  Also survived by sister Wanda Haviland (Andrew); brother Joseph Higham (Ann); brother-in-law Jess Lemons; and sister-in-law Barbara Swartz; and the Marshall family (Rick, Donna, Christine, MaryBeth, Steven, and Michael and their families).  During her life she enjoyed her precious kitty cats, trips to Atlantic City, bowling, cooking, and entertaining her family and friends.  Friends received from 3 – 8 Thursday and from 10 am until the time of service at 11am Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland Township.  Pastor Douglas Black, officiating, Interment, Grandview Cemetery.  The family would like to extend their gratitude for the care and devotion to our mother provided by the Crossroads Unit at Arbutus Park Manor.
