Karan, Elizabeth, 86, Bon Air. Died April 9, 2016, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born Dec. 7, 1929, in East Conemaugh Borough. Daughter of the late John and Mary (Sernansky) Petriska. Also preceded in death by husband of 51 years, Steve Karan; siblings, Ann Onufer, Charles, John, George, Mike, Alex and Pete Petriska. Survived by daughter, Laura, wife of Mark Malzi, Richland and Dr. Steven, married to the former Lori Bond, Pinehurst, NC; grandchildren, Dallas and Dereck Malzi; and Ashlyn and Scott Karan. Sister of Mary Oreskovich and Julia Visovsky; and sister-in-law, Irene Karan. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, and Liturgical Choir. Former volunteer at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, assisting in fish fries, nut roll and pierogi making for many years. She will be remembered as a kind and loving, wife, mother, grandmother and sweet lady who had an angel’s singing voice. Friends received 4-8 PM Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 AM Friday at St. Benedict Church. Fr. David S. Peles, pastor. Committal at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Family suggests donations to St. Benedict Church Music Ministry in memory of Elizabeth. (Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com)
