Elizabeth A. "Betty" Dereani

Dereani – Elizabeth A., “Betty”, 92, Richland, passed away on June 30, 2024. Born on April 21, 1932 in Dunlo, PA, daughter of John G. and Anna (Scrabula) Kozak. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph L. Dereani who passed away in 1970. 

She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen A. Miller, and her husband, Bradley, Richland; granddaughters, Angela Merriman, and her husband, Jason, and Jennifer Skowron, and her husband, Todd all of Richland; great grandchildren, Aubree and Alayna Merriman, and Jacob, Gavin, and Jordan Skowron. 

 Betty was a 1950 graduate of Johnstown High School. She worked for ACME Markets for many years, and later retired from PNC Bank in 1994. Betty was member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. She also volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Family Kitchen for over 30 years. Betty enjoyed polka dancing, Jumble puzzles, bus trips, and eating out with her friends. The most important was family and the wonderful trips to Ocean City, MD.

 Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Private interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be directed to St. Vincent De Paul Family Kitchen, 231 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15901 in memory of Betty.
