Eleanor Anne Sipko

Sipko, Eleanor, Anne, “Ellie”, 88, of Richland Township, passed away on August 15, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on December 13, 1924 in Johnstown. Daughter of George W. and Ida E. (Rovan) Reed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John D. Sipko and a sister, Mary Jane Kralik. She is survived by her loving children, Carol A. wife of James Frank, Sun City Center, FL, Ronald J. and his partner, Genevieve Kluchar both of Johnstown and Patricia L. Price, Johnstown; 10 grandchildren; Anita, Robert, Christina, Jeffrey, Douglas, Kristyn, Kelly, Daniel, Mark and Ryan;17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; brother, James G. Reed, Westminster, CA; sister, Patricia Teeter, Benscreek; Godmother of Nancy Taresco, Rosie Thomas and Gloria Heminger; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Eleanor attended Conemaugh Township High School. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, and Legion of Mary. Eleanor also attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of Coast Guard Auxiliary; Ladies Columbian Circle; charter member of the East Hills Democratic Women’s Club; Red Hat Ladies; National Association of Retired Federal Employees; Christian Women’s Club; East Hills Regional Democratic Club; elected Mrs. Democrat of 2008; former member of the Belmont Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Eleanor led the Rosary at Harmony House for many years. Eleanor enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crossword puzzles. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral mass will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Eleanor.
