Allison, Edward Dean, AGE 90, of Marbury, MD, formerly of Oakland in Johnstown, PA, went home to be with the Lord on January 3, 2012. He was born on July 15, 1921 in Johnstown, son of the late Raymond and Isa (Harbaugh) Allison. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Roy and Wilbur (who died in infancy) and sisters, Madeline Berkey and Olive Berkebile. Survived by wife of 72 years, Nellie (Smay) Allison; son, Roy, Atlanta, GA; daughters, Judy, wife of Wil Budd, Marbury, MD, Carol, wife of Herb Blanton, Brooksville, FL and Sonja Hartley, Cross Lanes, W.VA; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth, Everett, PA and several nieces and nephews. Dean retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 30 years of service. He later was employed at various jobs in Maryland and finally as a school and charter bus driver for Macllwain Charter and Tours and Lodestar Bus Lines and Tours. Dean was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and prior to his illness was very active in Emmanuelâs Ministry in various roles as teacher, bus driver and other roles as needed. He was also a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church Bowling League. Dean enjoyed helping other people, traveling, golfing and loved spending time with his entire family, especially his grandchildren. Friends received from 3-7 P.M. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from noon until time of service at 1 P.M. on Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Streets officiating. Private interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 425 Luther Road, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Dean.
