Dr. Masood Boroumand

Boroumand – Dr. Masood, “Dr. B.”, 77, Richland, passed away on March 17, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills, PA. Born on December 30, 1941 in Hamadan, Iran, son of the late Ali and Ahktar (Mustafi) Boroumand. He is survived by his loving sons, Amir (Beth), Pittsburgh and Kia (Aubrey Saccol), both of Richland; mother of Masood’s children, Partow Nader, Pittsburgh; sister, Giti (Hossein) Ahmadi, Iran and several nieces and nephews. Dr. Boroumand graduated from Tehran Medical School in 1968. He practiced at various places until he opened his own private pediatric practice at Windber Hospital in 1987, where he practiced until he retired in 2018. Dr. Boroumand was the director of Pediatrics for Windber Hospital for many years as well as being an active staff member at Conemaugh Hospital. He was very passionate and dedicated in his work of treating all his patients as if they were his own family. His work with children kept him young at heart. Dr. B. was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. at Saturday at the Harris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phyllis Diamond officiating. Private interment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Windber Health Care Foundation – Pediatric Care, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Dr. Masood Boroumand.
