Dr. James K. Davis, Sr.

Davis – Dr. James K. Sr., 91, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 2017, at Arbutus Manor. Born on January 1, 1926 in Johnstown. Son of the late Arthur and Deulah (Thomas) Davis. Preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Davis and Jane Gettys; and brothers, William and Jack Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jinnie N. (Nam) Davis; children, James K. Jr., Palm Bay, FL; Patricia Lynn (Steve) Young, Atlanta, GA; Logan Arthur (Connie Weicht) Davis, Central City, PA; Monica Matthews, Concord, NC; and Jessica (Patrick) Harrington, Chelmsford, MA; grandchildren, Savanah and Nathaniel Young, Jordan and Erin Davis, Benjamin and Nathaniel Matthews, Corbin Delso, and Zada and Evan Herrington; brother, David Jerry Davis, Johnstown; and several nieces and nephews. James was a US Air Force Veteran serving during WWII. He retired from Conemaugh Hospital, where he was a physician for many years. James enjoyed, gardening, fishing and golfing. He especially loved spending time with his family and looked forward to the yearly Labor Day picnics at the farm. At James’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to West Hills Community Church, 2301 Sunshine Ave, Johnstown, PA 15905 in memory of James.
