Doyle D. Berkebile

Berkebile, Doyle D., 89, of Richland. Went to be with his Lord on Feb. 5, 2016, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born March 6, 1926, in Johnstown. Son of the late Virgil and Ruth (Pebley) Berkebile. Also preceded in death by brother, Wayne. Survived by wife of 69 years, Alice M. (Lindenberg); daughters; Kathy, wife of David Mills; and Beth, wife of Mark Smith, both of Richland; grandchildren, John Corle and Kimberlee Geisel; great grandchildren, Cameron, Brynne, Abigayle, Loryn and Eli; step grandchildren, Brenda and Robert; step great grandchildren, Louise, Andrew and Mary; and step great great grandchild, Zoe. Brother of Doris Powell. 1944 graduate of Johnstown High School. Navy Veteran of WW II serving as a signalman aboard an LSM transporter. Retired from (Penelec) Conemaugh Generating Station. Member of Belmont United Methodist Church.  Doyle was a loving husband, father and  grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and from 10 AM to time of service at 11 AM Tuesday at Belmont U.M. Church. Pastor Keith Dunn, officiating. Interment with military rites by Conemaugh Valley Detachment, Marine Corps League at Richland Cemetery. Family suggests donations to Belmont U.M. Church in memory of Doyle D.
