Schellhammer – Dorothy A., 78, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2015 at Lehigh Center, Macungie, PA. Born on October 25, 1936 in Johnstown, daughter of Charles J. and Geraldine C. (Glass) Schellhammer. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Lou Kopach; brothers, Kenneth R., Donald E., and C. Thomas. She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca A., wife of Dr. Matthew L. Kasprenski, Orefield, PA; grandchildren, Major Matthew C. Kasprenski M.D., married to the former Kathryn J. Benson, San Antonio, TX, Dr. Abigail J., wife of Shawn M. Klitsch, Orefield, PA, and Jacob A. Kasprenski, Orefield, PA; sister, Helen C. Dawson, Johnstown; brother, Edward R. Schellhammer, Johnstown; aunt, Betty Weaver, Johnstown and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy retired from The Church of the Brethren Home, Scalp Level, where she was employed as a cook for numerous years. She was a member of Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, where she enjoyed pinching perogies with her friends. Dorothy also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, especially pinochle with her brother, Ed, sister, Helen, and her aunt, Betty. She loved her family dearly and will be extremely missed. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, Fr. Robert Ruston, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, 130 Boltz Street, Johnstown, PA 15902 in memory of Dorothy.
