Mock, Dorothy J., 83, of Windber. Died May 19, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 8, 1929, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Palliser) Zimmerman. Also preceded in death by Sisters; Ruth Kuhns and Helene Husbands; Grandchildren, Brandon Mock, Keith Mock, and Jennifer Barefoot. Survived by Husband of 60 years, Gerald R. Mock; Children, Eloise (Dave) Romano, Windber; Cameron (Mary) Mock, Hollsopple; Brenda (Art) Barefoot, Alum Bank; Sandra (Doug) Will, Sarver, PA and Sherry (Bill) Fortier, Ashburn, VA; Grandchildren, Ryan, Chelsea and Marley Romano; Kevin, Eric and Emery Mock; Joe Barefoot; Zach, Laura and Jeffrey Will; and Bryan and Jenna Fortier. Sister of Rev. Charles (Nan) Zimmerman, Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dot was a graduate of Westmont Upper Yoder High School. She worked at Johnstown Bank and Trust, and after raising five children, worked at Windber Hospital Volunteer Office. Having recently celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary, she was a devoted wife and mother. Dot prized family, church and volunteering. She was a long-time volunteer at the Hospitality Shop at Windber Hospital and the Rotary-Anns. Dot was a dedicated member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She served as a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, choir member, church council member, and in many other capacities. In addition to being the Communications Director for Thrivent, she handled several community programs that included the potato project for area food banks and the school Christmas stockings program. Dot enjoyed hosting family, reading, painting ceramics, and making artificial flower arrangements. However, she was happiest cutting patches, sewing, and making quilt tops with the Dorcas Quilters. She helped make over 500 quilts that were donated to area hospitals and Lutheran World Relief. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and 10 am to time of service at 11 am Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 514 Shady Lane, Windber.
