Dorothy L. McClain

McClain – Dorothy L., 81, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on Sept 10, 2021 at her residence. Born on November 5, 1939 in Johnstown, daughter of Kenneth and Martha (Benford) Freeman. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert K. McClain, and sister, Margaret Freeman. She is survived by her loving daughter, D. Lynette Shearer, Johnstown; step son, Rob McClain, OH; daughter-in-law, Pam McClain, OH; grandsons, Shawn and Corvus McClain; sisters, Martha McDonald, Virginia Beach, VA; niece, Tracy (Dan) Williams, VA; nephew, John (Leslie) McDonald, AZ; great nieces, Rylie McDonald and Jessica Williams, and great nephew, Joey Williams. Dorothy was a graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. She was a member of Tire Hill Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed camping, square dancing, volunteering at Camp Harmony and New Day Inc. Dorothy loved her family dearly and will be remembered for her kindness. Everyone she met called her “mom”. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Chapel, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Brian Simmons officiating. Interment will be at Stahl Mennonite Cemetery.
