Dorothy V. Lebedda

Lebedda – Dorothy V., 86, Richland Township, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on June 24, 2014 at Golden Living Center. Born on August 25, 1927 in Pittsburgh, daughter of Charles and Veronica (Pekar) Novacek. Preceded in death by parents; husband, George F. Lebedda, who died January 1, 1989; siblings, Andrew, Stephen, Mary Hopchak, and Josephine Stafura. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her loving children, Marybeth A., wife of Jerry M. Heinze, Richland Township and George K., married to the former Teresa Nardi, Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Laura A., wife of Stephen Bower, Andrew C. Heinze, Elizabeth L., Nathaniel H. Lebedda; great grandson, Carter T. Bower and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, PA. She was a charter member and past officer of the Richland Mall Rise and Stride Walking Club. Dorothy enjoyed working with The American Red Cross blood drives as a volunteer. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who valued and enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy’s family would like to extend a thank you to the caring staff at Golden Living Center and AseraCare Hospice. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fr. Charles F. Bodziak, Pastor. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church,  751 Locust Street, St. Michael PA 15951 in memory of Dorothy.
