Dorothy W. Hershberger

Hershberger – Dorothy W., 90, Richland, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2019 at her residence. Born on March 27, 1929 in Elton, daughter of Ortha L. and Rose B. (Lehman) Weaver. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, Glenn O. Hershberger; granddaughter, Heather Hershberger; siblings, Dwight, Donald, Jack, and Denise L. Hayes. She is survived by her loving children, Dave, Gregg and Cindy, wife of Bill Lehmann all of Richland; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, and Ashley, wife of Michael Kozak; great grandson, Gabriel Kozak; brother, Duane Weaver, Lititz, PA; brother-in-law, Jim Hayes, Geistown; sister-in-law, Twila Weaver, Arlington, TX, and many close nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Adams Township High School. She worked at Commercial Credit and later at Sears for over 25 years until retirement. Dorothy also assisted her husband, Glenn in the Richland Township Tax Office. She was a lifelong member of Scalp Level Church of the Brethren, where she served for many years as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Dorothy enjoyed camping, traveling, and treasured spending time with her family. She was a woman of strong faith who loved reading her Bible. Her family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the Windber Hospice care givers, especially Peggy, Kelly, Theresa, and Marie. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and sister-in-law who will be missed by all. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where a Deacon Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. An additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Scalp Level Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Mark Murchie and Rev. Ronald St. Clair officiating. Interment will be at Berkey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be directed to Scalp Level Church of the Brethren, 270 Hoffman Avenue, Windber, PA 15963, or to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave, Windber, PA 15963, in memory of Dorothy.
