Dorothy L. Golby

Golby, Dorothy L., 84, Richland. Died Jan. 17, 2012, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born August 30, 1927, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Charles and Lennie (McCowan) Thompson. Also preceded in death by these brothers and sisters; Virginia “Jackie” Settlemire, James Luty, Charles Thompson, Jr., Robert Thompson and Lois “Tommy” Thompson. Grandson; Sgt. Christopher Golby and daughter-in-law, Dawn Golby. Survived by children; Brenda (John) Ivanac, Herminie, Pa.; Ronald Golby, Richland; Kimberly (Tim) Spangler, Richland; and Sandra (William) Meyers, Hanover, Pa. Grandchildren; April (Brian) Selepack, Richard Ivanac, Maxwell (Jeanine) Lawn, Lt. Douglas (Sara) Ivanac, William (Jennifer) Meyers,Jr., Adam Meyers and Brittany Spangler. Great Grandchildren: Jeffery Burns, Tyler McCarty, Dylon Golby, Kaia Selepack, Ian Selepack, Gabriella Ivanac and Elizabeth Ivanac. Sister of Dolores Golby, Johnstown. Numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church for many years. Dorothy was a wonderful mother, grandmother and certified caregiver who enjoyed camping, gardening, crafts, sewing, bingo and playing cards. She was adventurous and traveled extensively with her family creating very fond memories for all.  She was a generous and loving person who loved spending time with people and was willing to help anyone.  Friends received from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  time of service Friday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Pastors Custead, Officiating. Interment at Richland Cemetery.  Family suggests making a donation to Mt.
