Dorothy V. Bracken

Bracken, Dorothy V., 93, of Geistown Borough, went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2012 at Arbutus Park Manor. She was born on August 11, 1918 in Johnstown. Daughter of George and Emma (Croyle) Bowser. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Helen Basset and brothers, Thomas, Robert, George Bowser. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Harold B. Bracken; children, Barry R., married to the former Deanna M. Moore, Port Saint Lucie, FL and Rebecca A. Bracken, Geistown Borough; grandchildren, Robert (Kathleen Riso) Bracken, Daniel (Janet) Bracken, and Scott (Jessica) Shaulis; great grandchildren, Dantina, Lauren, Michael, Ryan, Courtney and Alec Bracken; sister, Gertrude McLaughlin, Hickory, NC; brothers, James (Margaret) Bowser, Pasadena, MD and William (Nancy Jo) Bowser, Thomasville, NC and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a graduate of Westmont High School. She was employed as a beautician. Dorothy was a life time member of Grove Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, music, playing cards and traveling. Dorothy was a beautiful caring woman and her family was her life. Friends will be received from 4-7 P.M. on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday at Grove Avenue United Methodist Church, with the Rev Edward Schoeneck officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery.
