Dorothy M. Barbus

Barbus, Dorothy M., “Grammie Dot and G.G.”, 86, of East Conemaugh, passed away on January 5, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 3, 1928 in Johnstown. Daughter of the late George and Pauline (Roman)Lebosky. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Barbus; daughters, Barbara J., “Barb” Barbus, Elayne M. Barbus-McMinn, Melanie Barbus and Joyce L. Barbus; siblings, Ruth Lepeta, George Lebosky Jr., and Robert Lebosky and son-in-law, Tom Szwast. She is survived by loving daughters, Paulette B. Szwast, East Taylor Township, and Susan wife of Robin Dietz, East Conemaugh; son-in-law, Fred Farabaugh, East Conemaugh; grandchildren, Joey, who resided with Dorothy, Derek (Courtney), Jocelyn (Bill), Ryan (Brianne), Ashley (Alan), and Zach and Michael; great grandchildren, Rylei, Katie, Abbie, Gavin, Garrett, and Easton; sister-in-law, Betty Lebosky, Windber; nephew, Rich Voytko, Richland Township; numerous family and friends and grand dog, Gracie. Dorothy was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Johnstown. She retired from Conemaugh Valley School District, where she was employed as a cook for over 20 years. Dorothy enjoyed sitting on her porch, crocheting, cross word puzzles, and listening to polkas on Sundays. She loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. Friends received 2–6 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, with the Rev Custeads officiating. A private burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to the First Lutheran Church, 415 Vine Street, Johnstown, PA 15901in memory of Dorothy.
