Bailey, Dorothy, M.86, of Gramlingtown. Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 21, 2013, at Memorial medical Center. Born on August 7, 1927 in Johnstown. Daughter of Richard E. and Colina A. (Gaston) Eppley. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John R. Bailey; son, Rev. Danny R. Bailey; great granddaughter, Rayanna Bailey; grandson, Philip Wentz; brothers, Richard and Lester; brothers-in-law, Ray Rice and Neil Shaffer. She is survived by her loving children; Dennis J. married to the former Debra Wilson; Wayne R. married to the former Dee Dee Fresh both of Gramlingtown; and Patricia A. wife of Daniel Meyers Jr., Beaver, PA; daughter-in-law, Carol wife of Robert Felex, Summerhill; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Rice, Bedford, Janet Shaffer, Glenn Rock; brother, Charles married to Helen, Sidman; sisters-in-law, Freda Eppley, Portage; and Helen Eppley, Sidman; also several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, where she enjoyed working with the junior choir. She loved spending time with her family, always active with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dorothy loved the outdoors, regardless if it was camping, fishing, hunting, taking the kids to the creek to catch crabs or just sitting on the porch enjoying the birds and sunshine. She enjoyed working on crafts with her late husband, and especially loved singing, and yodeling. Mom/grandma was always nurturing to any child or person who needed a place to stay or to a stray animal that needed help. She will be sadly missed but will be always remembered as a kind and loving person. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and to those that touched her life through the years. Friends received from 2:30 -8 P.M. on Tuesday and from noon until time service at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland with the Rev. Tom Moore, officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery. At the familyâs request memorial contributions may be directed to Arbutus Park Manor Activities Dept. in memory of Dorothy.
