Robbins, Doris E. 82, Indiana, Pa., formerly of Geistown. Passed away on August 15, 2011 at Moorehead House, Indiana, PA. Born March 4, 1929 in Altoona, PA, daughter of the late Joseph W. and Marian (Eckenrode) Plummer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert; Richard; and J. Donald Plummer,; and sister, Mary Joan Primel. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Morton H. Robbins; children J. Scott Robbins and wife Xuan of San Diego, CA; Richard D. Robbins and wife, Eleanor of Somerset, PA; Kimberly A. Dolan and husband, John of Indiana, PA; and Mark D. Robbins and wife, Sandra of Pembroke Pines, FL.; grandchildren Linhda (Mark) Reis, Robin (Marie) Street, Jennifer (Seth) Robbins-Volle, Lisa (Luke) Norwood, Christopher Robbins, Lee Robbins, David (Tara) Dolan, Robert Dolan, Elizabeth Dolan, Zachary Robbins and Matthew Robbins; great-grandchildren: Suzanne (Jesse) Touchstone, Victoria Reis, Emily Reis, Michael Dolan, Alexis Dolan and Nicholas Street; great-great grandchild Landon Touchstone along with numerous nieces and nephews. Doris moved to the Johnstown area in her early years attending Southmont Schools. She graduated from the former Johnstown Catholic High School and then worked for Penn Traffic Co., where she met her future husband, Morton Robbins of the Tribune Publishing Co. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Doris was a devout Catholic and a past member of the Legion of Mary and St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. She loved spending the summer months at their vacation retreat at Glendale Yearound near Prince Gallitzin State Park. She especially enjoyed the time spent on the lake in their sailboat. Later, in retirement she and her husband traveled the country in their motor home where they visited all but two states. She was an avid pinochle player and was a member of several card clubs. Friends received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011 at St. Benedict's Church. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Doris.
