Doris Bentz

BENTZ---Doris, 92, Johnstown, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 1, 2019. She was the daughter of the late John and Virginia Benson, and was also preceded in death by parents-in-law, Luther and Roda Bentz; and brother-in-law, Gale Bentz. She was the devoted wife of J. Clark Bentz for 69 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Keith (Pamela) Daniel (Tina), and Christine (David Mulder); grandchildren, Steven, Clark, and Chandler; and great-grandchildren, Madden, Westin, and Owen, and in-laws, Ned (Maryann), Wayne (Gail) and several nieces. Doris was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College and taught elementary education in several school districts. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, where she served as a deaconess and Sunday School teacher. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Florida during their retirement. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Rev. Brad Griesheimer officiating. Committal, Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, in memory of Doris Bentz.
