Donna M. Layton

Layton – Donna Marie, 56, New Oxford, PA, formerly of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2014 at Mandarin Inpatient Care Center, Harwood, MD, where she fought very hard but lost her battle to cancer. Born on July 2, 1957 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Raymond C. Lehman Sr. and Gwendolyn (Phillips) Lehman, Johnstown. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Samuel and Helen Lehman; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Elese Phillips; father-in-law, Earl “Red” Layton; brother-in-law, Daniel E. Layton. In addition to her mother she is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Philip R. Layton, New Oxford, PA; children, Michelle, wife of Roberto Velez, Seminole, FL, Michael, married to the former Amber Kalwasinski, Orlando, FL, and Kimberly, wife of Mike Knipp, Pasadena, MD; grandchildren, Mykel, McKayden, Ethen and Dylan; siblings, Marsha, wife of Joe Zajdel, Parkhill, Barbara Davis, Johnstown, Raymond c. Jr., Magnolia DE, Glenn, Johnstown, and Keith, married to the former Nicole Friedline, Johnstown; mother-in-law, Ethel M. Layton, Harrisburg, PA; sister-in-law, Donna Mae Mainer and Pamela Miller both of Harrisburg, PA and Patricia J. Tessari, Windber; many aunts, uncles, Cousins, nieces, nephews and very close friend, Cindy, wife of Palco Gartland, Salix, PA. Donna was a 1975 graduate of Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech High School. She was employed at SEARS, working in the paint department for many years in Hanover, PA. Donna was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who wanted nothing more than to spend time with her family and grandsons. She will be sadly missed by all. Friends will be received from 3 P.M. until time of service at 5 P.M. on Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, with the Rev. Clifford L. Richey officiating. Private inurnment will be at held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Donna.
