Donald Yackulich

Yackulich – Donald, “Butch”, 78, of Parkhill, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on May 18, 1938 in Parkhill, son of Michael and Anna (Berzonsky) Yackulich. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings; George, John, Charlie, Michael, Paul, Anna Kopyt and Mary Partsch, and father and mother-in-law, Pete and Zelma Novitsky. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna M. (Novitsky) Yackulich; children, Brian D., and Jennifer M., wife of Frank Bailey, all of Parkhill; grandchildren, Bryton R. Yackulich, Karalyn M., Kalina M. Bailey, and his grand puppy, Sadie; siblings, Helen (Mickey) Margetan, Dorothy Rosenbaum, Betsy (Sonny) Cekada, and Irene (Red) Freidhoff; brothers-in-law, Robert T. (Linda) Novitsky, Latrobe, PA, and Thomas M. (Rose) Novitsky, Mundys Corner, and numerous nieces and nephews. Butch retired from Bethlehem Steel after 35 years of service as a Scarfer in Steel Prep. He was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Butch enjoyed tinkering in his garage and riding around on his scooter, visiting with his family and Parkhill buddies. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, entertaining and keeping them busy. Butch will be remembered for his quick wit and as a wonderful Husband, Dad, and Pappy. Friends received 3-7 p.m. on Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Parastas will be held Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Brief prayers at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral chapel followed by Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Power St. Msgr.
