Plunkard, Donald, R., âPlunkâ, 56, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2012. He was born on December 21, 1955 in Johnstown. Son of Wilbert J. and Margaret F. (Irvin) Plunkard. Preceded in death by parents; son, Christopher and a brother, William âBillâ. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Donna R. (Roush) Plunkard and his faithful little buddy, âThunderâ; step son, Robert J. Shuey, Latrobe, PA; sisters, Linda L., wife of Thomas Pattison, Johnstown and Mary C., wife of Thomas Horner, Chambersburg, PA; brothers, W. John , married to the former Sandy Klobetanz, Johnstown and Robert J., married to the former Bonnie L. Rager, Johnstown; 10 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews and aunt, Ruth , âPeanâ, wife of James Schellhammer, Johnstown. Plunk was a 1974 graduate of Richland High School. He was employed at Freight Car America as a Certified Painter for 20 years. Plunk was a lifetime member of Cambria County ABATE and a 3 year member of Richland American Legion Post # 849. He enjoyed riding on his Harley, taking rides in his new Mazda Miata, and just being around his friends and family. Plunk will be greatly missed by all and will be remembered for his big heart, and wonderful smile. He really believed that if you put your mind to it, you can do anything, and his favorite saying was, âJust one more hunâ. Friends will be received from noon until time of service at 4 P.M. on Saturday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. John Weaver officiating. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to a charity of oneâs choice in memory of Plunk.
