McIlwain---Donald Ray, Windber, native of Johnstown, 70 years and 5 months, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 26, 1953, in Johnstown, son of John C. and Margaret A. (Davis) McIlwain. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by brother, John R. McIlwain, sister-in-law, Angelyn McIlwain, niece, Darah McIlwain and nephew, Rafe McIlwain. Donald was a 1972 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School and lived and worked in Johnstown all of his life. He was an accomplished pistol marksman and a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He was a lover of miniature schnauzers. His family and friends would like to thank the staff of Memorial Medical Center for their loving care of Don. They would also like to thank Danielle, Sandra and Stacey, Chris and Aubrey and the nursing staff, Dan and the dietary staff, Kim and the housekeeping staff, Andy and the maintenance staff and Craig, Teddi, Kristin, Haley and Lee from the therapy department of Windber Woods and also thanks to Don’s fellow residents of Windber Woods and Stephanie Negrey who was always there to help. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and again from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, with Rev.
