McAfee, Donald M., 84, of Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2013 at Windber Hospice. Born on December 10, 1928 in Johnstown, son of Irvin and Ruby (Fogle) McAfee. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Lila Visosky, Shirley Glass; brother, Ned McAfee. He is survived by his loving wife of 61years, Helen (McAleer) McAfee, Richland Township; children, Donald J., married to the former Alice L. Schaller, Wallingford, CT, Jeffrey J., married to the former Mary Aliquo, Ellwood City, PA, Kathleen M., wife of Ronald Snyder, Davidsville, PA, Brian I., married to the former Pamela J. Noon, Richland Township, and Patrick M., married to the former Cathy Weakland, Leland, NC; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert I. McAfee, Philadelphia, PA and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Diane M., wife of Joseph D. Labbe, Maple Shade, NJ. Donald was a 1948 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War in the 716th Military Police Battalion. Donald retired from Gallikers after 25 years of service, where he was employed as a driver salesman. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the former Belmont Volunteer Fire Company. Donald enjoyed country music, bowling, the Pittsburgh Steelers, but most of all spending time with his friends at the Corner Coffee Shop. He loved his crackers and peanut butter, and cuddling with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 P.M. until time of service at 7 P.M. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday evening by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. Private inurnment will be at Richland Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Fisher House, which helps families of wounded veterans, at 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850 or to fisherhouse.org in memory of Donald.
