Mauk, Donald B., 67, of Jackson Twp. Died Oct. 16, 2013, at home. Born Nov. 1, 1945, in Johnstown. Son of the late William H. and Margaret (Ayers) Mauk. Also was preceded in death by siblings; William H. Jr., Jeffery, infant (Bonnie) and Karen, who died tragically in childhood during Halloween. Survived by wife of 43 years, Patricia G. (Furlong); daughter, Tara L. Barnes, Pittsburgh. Brother of Larry T., Fla., Greg (Trina), Hancock, MD, Cindy L. (Bill) Svoboda, East Berlin, PA. Numerous nieces and nephews. 1964 graduate of Conemaugh High School. Viet Nam War Veteran, serving in Korea in the 8th Army. Retired from the Finishing Dept, Gautier Division, Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. Life member and Commander of Conemaugh American Legion Post #1633. Life member of VFW Franklin Post #5107. Member of Voiture 1370 40 and 8, Conemaugh Eagles Aerie #1811, District 20, Commander of American Legion, Grand Cheminot of Southwest 40 and 8. Don enjoyed hunting and working in his garden. Friends received 2-7 PM Sunday and from 10 AM to time of service at 11 AM Monday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh. Rev. John Weaver, officiating.
