Lupek – Donald J., “Duck”, 82, East Taylor Township, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on November 28, 2014 at Autumns View Personal Care Home, Portage, PA. Born on February 23, 1932 in Johnstown, son of Joseph and Anna L. (Oravec) Lupek. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Richard, William and Patrick Donnelly and sister-in-law, Barbara Donnelly. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 &1/2 years, Jane L. (Donnelly) Lupek, East Taylor Township; children, David A., married to the former Janet Kostro, Shelby Township, MI, Deborah L., wife of Mark Bobrowicz, Knoxville, TN, and Jean M., wife of Frank Krawcion, Vinco; grandchildren, Ashley, Amy, Jessica, Megan, Jordan, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Jasmine, Kassie, Kaitlin, and Jaelyn; sister, Peggy, wife of Gene Stralko and sister-in-law, Dorothy Donnelly all of Shelby Township, MI, and several nieces and nephews. Don was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from Bethlehem Steel, where he was employed as a crane operator for many years. Don was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration and the Daisytown Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed tinkering around the house, taking long walks with his buddy, Toby and watching the Steelers. Don loved spending time with his family at home. Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr, Johnstown, PA 15904  in memory of Donald.
