Donald R. Batiste Sr.

BATISTE--- Donald R. Sr., 80, Richland, passed away on August 23, 2020. Born August 17, 1940, in Wilkes Barre, PA, son of Dominick and Marion (Hughes) Batiste. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Janet (Imler), whom he married on June 5, 1965; children, Donald R. Batiste, and wife, Allison (Betz), Pittsburgh; Judy Thompson, and husband, Jim, Windber; and Eric Batiste, and wife, Sunshine (Miller), Duncansville; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Kiersten Batiste; Sarah and Emily Thompson; Kristopher Thompson and wife, Leah, and their children, Riley and Ella. Brother of Richard Batiste and wife, Ambra, Austin, TX; and Carol Kayworth, Fort Myers, FL. Also survived by special aunt, Mildred Hughes, Ship Bottom, NJ, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald held a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He taught chorus and music at Windber Area High School for over 30 years. He served the Lord by directing church choirs for many years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Gardening was also something that he enjoyed. Private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Private entombment at Richland Mausoleum.
