BASH---Donald L., 86, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 21, 1937, in Johnstown son of Stanton and Mildred (Harr) Bash. Preceded in death by parents; son, Zackery Bash, sister, Betty Shuman and husband, George; nephew, Michael Meyers, brothers-in-law, Michael Ostrich, Robert Meyers and James Yoder. Survived by wife of 63 years, Bonnie L. (Cannonie), son, Brian and wife, Dian, from Maryland; grandchildren, Garret Bash and wife, Kelly, from Maryland and Hunter Bash, from Maryland. Brother of Connie Meyers. Also survived by sister-in-law, Sharon Yoder, daughter-in-law, Judy Bash and numerous nieces and nephews. Don loved gospel music, old cars including his 1937 Ford Sedan and his 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass, telling stories and shopping. He worked at Bethlehem Steel Corporation for over 30 years. He also worked at Riverside and the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority in the parking lot. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Johnstown and was involved in the Junior Miss program for many years. In his early years, he was involved with the Johnstown Jaycees. Don’s family would like to thank the staff of Memorial Medical Center and the Palliative Care program, Pastor Hyiwot Teshome and Pat Betts and especially their close friend Sherri Delgrosso who helped with difficult medical decisions. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 309 Lincoln St., Johnstown in the near future. Please check funeral home website for details.
