Diane M. Vitko

Vitko, Diane M., 64, of Richland, died January 16, 2019, surrounded by loved ones in hospice care in Pittsburgh, PA.  Born March 4, 1954, in Johnstown. Loving daughter of Joseph Shopp and Mary Louise (Locher) Shopp. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Thomas E. Vitko, Sr., step-son, Thomas E. Vitko II, and brothers, Charles and Michael. Survived by sons, Justin (Ashley) Demiter, Murrells Inlet, SC; Derek (Michallynn) Demiter, Pittsburgh, PA; and Bradley (Joseph) Vitko, Coatesville, PA. Grandchildren; Madelyn, Gavin, Olivia, and Trystin.  Sister of David (Kathy) Shopp and Daniel (Julie) Shopp. Sister-in-law of Lois, Gambrills, MD; Allen (Lois), Levittown, PA; Andrew (Carol), Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was a 1972 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. She retired after a very long and successful career in Human Resources with the National Drug Intelligence Center. Diane enjoyed spending time with family and special friends, shopping on QVC, and, more than anything, spoiling her grandchildren.  Her love for animals and spending time with her pets was one of the many joys in her life. Friends received 2-5 PM Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor.
