Johnson – Delbert E., “Del”, 89, of Vinco. Went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2018, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on December 4, 1928, in Johnstown. Son of the late Harold and Martha (Wilson) Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Pearl (Pekera) Johnson; siblings; Carl, Jacqueline Luginski, and Marjorie Johnson. Del is survived by loving daughters, Janny and Judi; grandson, Joshua Towne and many nieces and nephews. He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in the US Army, receiving the Combat Infantry Badge. Del was a member of Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #137, Windber; former member of the Conemaugh Volunteer Fire Company; Western PA Firemen's Association. He retired from US Steel as an electrician. Del was a loving husband, father, grandfather, animal and music lover, car enthusiast, and Penn State and Steeler Football fan. His quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Del’s family would like to thank their extended family at Arbutus Park Manor (staff and residents) for their loving care. Friends received from 2:30 p.m. until time of service at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, with the Rev. Keith H. Lohr, officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
