Debra L. Blough

Blough – Debra J., 64, of Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2016 at her residence. Born on May 31, 1951 in Johnstown, daughter of Roy and Ruth (Grove) Varner. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Varner. She is survived by her loving companion, Douglas D. Knopsnyder, Richland Township; husband, James E. Blough Jr., Richland Township; son, James E. Blough III, Richland Township, and his companion, Kimberly Fox, Upper Yoder Township; daughter, Kari Blough-Smith, wife of Erin Smith, Davidsville; grandson, Elisha Smith; siblings, Mildred Miller, Mineral Point, Ruth Ellen (James) Mendick, Penndel, PA, Jerry (Sharon) Varner, Somerset, PA, Don Varner, Benshoff Hill, and Paul Varner, Mineral Point and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and her little companion, Teddy. Debra was a 1969 graduate of Forest Hills High School. She was an employed as an office manager at Penlec for 6 years and later became owner and operator at Shear Impact Beauty Shop for 10 years. Debra was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed making crafts, baking, keeping house and entertaining at her residence. Debra loved going to restaurants, but especially loved spending time with her entire family. She had an ability to understand people and a sensibility that made everyone she met feel comfortable. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with the Pastor Peter Nordlund officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to either Emmanuel Baptist Church, 425 Luther Road, Johnstown, PA 15904 or the Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 in memory of Debra.
