Dean W. Kissell

Kissell, Dean W., 86, of Arbutus Park Retirement Community.  Died Oct. 11, 2013, at the Palliative Care Unit of Good Samaritan, Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Nov. 8, 1926, in Johnstown. Son of the late Jay D. and Hazel M. (St. Clair) Kissell. Also preceded in death by siblings; Wayne Kissell, Shirley Kellar and Jane Matley. Survived by wife of 61 years, Shirley A. (Luther); sons, Bruce W. (Sarah) of Carrollton, TX and Brian D. (Kristine) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Kimberly, Joel, Mark and Phillip all of Houston, TX; great grandchild, Logan. 1944 graduate of Johnstown High School. Penn State Graduate. WW11 Army Veteran. Dean was an engineer for the NASA Space Program. Member of Belmont United Methodist Church, Clear Lake Masonic Lodge #1417, Houston Scottish Rite, Jaffa Shrine Temple, Legion of Honor and Johnstown Shrine Club. At Dean’s request, there will be no public viewing, however relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service at 11 AM Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Arbutus Park Manor Chapel. Pastor Keith Dunn, officiating. Private inurnment at Richland Cemetery.  Family suggests donations to Arbutus Park Manor or Belmont U.M. Church in memory of Dean.
