David E. Viola

Viola, David E. 87,  Johnstown, formerly of New York. Died Nov. 21, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 23, 1923, in New York. Son of the late David and Brigitte (Curran) Viola. Also preceded in death by wife of 47 years, Emily (Cabrera); sons, David and Thomas; and grandson, Thomas; sisters, Kathrine Hill, Mary Desaro.  Survived by brother Fran of New Jersey; grandsons, David and Victor from New York City; nieces, nephews, daughter in law and extended family. WW II Army Air Force Veteran. Retired U.S. Customs Inspector. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown; and Menoher Post # 155, VFW. A funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at St. Benedict Church. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Relatives and friends received from Noon to 1:30 pm Wednesday prior to Mass at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
