Single, Sr. â David D., 81, Geistown Borough, went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2014 at home. Born on February 23, 1933 in Dunlo, son of Andrew and Mary (Busho) Single. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George, John, and Joseph. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Ann (Danko) Single, Geistown Borough; son, David D. Jr., Ferndale; daughter-in-law, Teri Single, Johnstown; several nieces and nephews including special niece, Patty Single and special nephews, Jim and Daniel Single; and his best buddy, Baxter. David was a 1951 graduate of Adams High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. David was employed in the metallurgical lab at US Steel Corp., where he retired after 35 years of service as a Foundry Foreman. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber and Life member of Dunlo American Legion Post #573. David was an avid metal detecting enthusiast, and enjoyed trout fishing and casino bus trips. He had a natural technical ability and loved the challenge of restoring, repairing and developing almost anything. David was the # 1 fan and faithful supporter to his sonâs music profession. He was very devoted to his wife, Mary Ann and his son, David, who were the loves of his life. David will be remembered as a kind and loving man who enjoyed life and will be sadly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him as husband, father, family and friend. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fr. Rod Soha, T.O.R. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum with military rites conducted by Windber VFW Post #4795. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
