Daniel R. Melius

Melius, Daniel R., 73, of Richland Twp. Died Jan. 6, 2012, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Dec. 20, 1938, in Twin Rocks. Son of the late George and Lena (Wright) Melius. Also preceded in death by brothers; George, Roy, Robert and sister, Pat Cramer. Survived by wife, Shirley J. (Conrad) and these children; Rick, married to Cindy (Cale), Richland; Jeffrey, married to Denise (Hoffman), Roanoke, VA.; and Daniel, Richland. Grandchildren; Ricki Sue and Nathan. Served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Retired from North American Hoganas. Member of Daisytown Sportsman’s Club. Dan enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also was a gunsmith, machinist and welder who could build and repair almost anything. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday and from 10 am to time of service at 11 am Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Rev. Gary Tustin, Officiating.
