Gula, Daniel, 84, of Franklin Borough, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2014 at home. Born in Windber, son of Peter and Helen (Stegel) Gula. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Fedorko and Ann Seredick, and brothers, Joe, John, Peter, Mike and Harry. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy (Raslovich) Gula, Franklin Borough; daughter, Daniella, wife of Wayne Fisher, Cincinnati, OH; grandsons, Andrew and Joshua Fisher; sisters, Helen Havrilak and Pauline Nadonley both of Windber, and Marge Enoch, Lancaster and numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel was a 1947 graduate of Windber High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. Daniel retired from Bethlehem Steel after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church; life member of SGT. Michael Strank Post # 5107 V.F.W.; member of the Conemaugh-Franklin American Legion Post #633 and former member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with his grandsons, and watching sports of all sorts. Daniel loved making people happy and will affectionately be remembered as the âCandy Manâ. Friends received 3-7 P.M. on Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Pomen will be held at 6 P.M. A short service will be held at 9:15 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral chapel, followed by funeral service at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church at 10 A.M., Rev. Fr. Dragan Zaric. Committal will be held at St. Petka Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to either St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 971 St. Clair Road, Johnstown, PA. 15905, or a charity of oneâs choice in memory of Daniel.
