Daniel W. "Dan" Grove Jr.

GROVE---Daniel W. Jr., 72, Parkhill, passed away on July 24, 2024 at home. Born June 18, 1952, in Johnstown, son of Daniel W. Sr. and Florence Irene (Stralko) Grove. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, Florence “Flo” Grove, of Conemaugh; husband, Kevin R. “Mickey” McMahon, husband of 2 years and partner since October 1, 1995; loving daughters, Amy Wallet and husband Jeffrey, Jackson Twp., Jessica Hemming and husband, David, Meyersdale, Megan Dumm and husband, Brian, Ebensburg; grandchildren, Julia Stephens, Jalen Stephens, Emma Wallet, Madeline Dumm and Josephine Dumm; loving feline companions Roxie and Ryan. Also survived by numerous cousins, friends and extended family. Dan was a graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Lee Hospital for a number of years and then he became a clinical instructor in the UPJ Respiratory Therapy Program for many years. After retirement from that position, he worked at Conemaugh Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. Dan enjoyed all Pittsburgh sports but especially the University of Pittsburgh teams. He was an avid reader, a movie buff and enjoyed creating cross stitch pieces for his grandchildren when they were born. He was a great dad and was at all of his children and grandchildren’s activities and competitions. Member of Conemaugh First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from Noon until time of Funeral Service at 4 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Mr. David Grinnell officiating.
