MAY----Cynthia ‘Cindie,’ 69, a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, passed away on February 13, 2023.She valued this service highly and attained the rank of SSG. As part of this service, she earned Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter Badge - Rifle, M16, and Marksmen Badge - Grenade. Born August 21, 1953, in Johnstown, PA, daughter of Lee and Zelma (Rego) May. Preceded in death by mother, Zelma May and brother, Rick May. Survived by father, Lee D. May, Johnstown; daughter, Janpaul (May) Villa; grandchildren, Gitana Villa, Daimen Villa, Brittany Mottershead, and Brett Rygel; sisters, Lynne (Gene) Clifford and Ginger (Mike) Rose; and many nieces and nephews. Cindie enjoyed being outdoors doing gardening and taking care of all her many pets over the years, especially Scrappy aka ‘Chi chi’ the killer chihuahua. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh, followed by military graveside rites by Menoher VFW Post #155 ritual team at 1:30 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery.
