Hildebrand, Crawford W., âCrockâ, 94, of East Taylor Township, went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2014 at Rosewood Personal Care Home. Born on March 23, 1919 in Johnstown, PA, son of Harry and Edna (Good) Hildebrand. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen âHoneyâ (Cowan) Hildebrand; son, Ronald Hildebrand; grandson, Bradley Hildebrand; brothers, Clifford, and James. He is survived by his loving children; Glenn R., married to the former Monica Sheehan, Jackson Township, and Elaine E., wife of Rob Stem, Pittsburgh; daughter-in-law, Susan (Rosenbaum) Hildebrand, Vinco; grandchildren, Jill Bertanzetti, Milton, PA, Jody Petrunak, Duncansville, Scott Hildebrand, State College, Ryan Hildebrand, Raleigh, NC, Bethany Hildebrand, Altoona, Patrick Hildebrand, Raleigh, NC, Jeffrey Hildebrand, Howard, PA, Russell Hildebrand, Port Matilda, and Maggie and Rebecca Stem, both of Pittsburgh; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Ruth Zurenda, Vinco; brother, Robert Hildebrand, Vinco and several nieces and nephews. Crock was a US Army Veteran serving during WW II with the Service Company, 38th Infantry, 2nd Division. He retired from the Wire Mill at Bethlehem Steel after 42 years of service. Crock was a former member of the East Taylor Volunteer Fire Company. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. In his early years he enjoyed hunting with his brothers, sons, and grandsons. His hobbies included traveling, playing cards and bowling. Crock was especially proud of his vegetable garden and loved family gatherings. His family will fondly remember his penchant for eating, preferably 3 hot meals a day followed by a couple half-cups of coffee. Crockâs family would like to thank the loving, caring staff at Rosewood Personal Care Home. Friends will be received from 3-7 P.M. on Wednesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, and from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. on Thursday at Vinco Brethren Church, Pastor Wes Lewis officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team at the church. Private interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
