Thurman, Charles W., 73, of Richland Twp., formerly of Palmyra, PA. Died Feb. 24, 2017, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born May 21, 1943, in Oak Hill, WV. Son of the late Charles O. and Juanita (Hipes) Thurman. Also, preceded in death by first wife, Christine (Smith) Thurman. Survived by wife, Judy (Toki-Kopco) Thurman; children, Clarissa (Stephen O’Donnell), Harrisburg; and Jonathan Thurman, Palmyra. Step children, Jane (Scott Jugan); and Rev. James (Julie Spence) Kopco; step grandchildren, Brendan and Joscelyn Jugan. Brother of Dr. James B. (Karola) Thurman; uncle of Patrick (Cassandra); and James Thurman; and great niece, Chelsea Thurman. Navy Veteran of Vietnam War. 1961 graduate of Windber High School and 1972 graduate of Temple University. Retired Hospital Pharmacist at Hershey Medical Center, VA Hospital at Lebanon, PA and Good Samaritan Hospital at Lebanon, PA. Attended Bethany United Methodist Church. No public visitation, however Graveside service, Military Rites and inurnment will be at 2 PM Friday Mar. 3, 2017, at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at Annville, PA. Arrangements entrusted to Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
