Mickens, Charles Wesley, 85, of East Conemaugh Borough, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on May 21, 1927 in Johnstown, son of Marion and Hannah (Williams) Mickens. Preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Naomi (Waugh) Mickens; sons, Craig P. Mickens and Clinton T. Mickens; siblings, Johnny, Thomas, Patricia, Rose Haywood, Collie and Raymond. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Doris A. (Hill) Mickens, East Conemaugh Borough; children, Charles G. and his fianceé, Paulette Brown, Youngstown, OH, Charlene D. Dukes, Glenn Dale, MD, Cornell J.(Denise), Silver Springs, MD, Carla D., wife of John Bell, Charlotte, NC, Cara J. Bennett, Chauncey E. Mickens, Carolyn J., wife of Dwight Gibson all of Johnstown; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Gersilee Thompson, Johnstown; cousins, Bertha Hill, Johnstown and John Mickens, Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Charles was a 1945 graduate of East Conemaugh High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Charles was employed at Bethlehem Steel from 1947-1950 and then worked at Fort Stanwix Hotel from 1950 â 1963. He later retired after 26 years of service at PENELEC, where he was employed as a lineman, from 1963 â 1989. Charles was a member of Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church; Flood City Lodge No.371; IBEW Local 459; and Abraham Lodge #32 F&AM. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family particularly at holidays. Charles loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and led them with the family motto, âOne for All and All for One.â Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. on Friday and from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. on Saturday at Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin McCray officiating. Flood City Lodge No. 371 will have a service at 7 P.M. on Friday at the church. Interment will be at 10 A.M. on Monday at Grandview Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family requests contributions be directed to John P.
