HENRY—Charles W. Sr., 95, Mineral Point PA., was blessed with a peaceful death at his home on May 7, 2020. Born March 25, 1925 in West Point, PA. preceded in death by wife Margaret, "Maggie" (Suenkonis) in 2003; parents, Frank V. and Agnes P. (Schrader) Henry; brothers, Frank and John and sister, Genevieve Marhefka. Survived by his loving children, Linda M. Reddinger (William) of Westmont. Charles W. Jr, married to Marlene (Ritter) of Mundy's Corner. Brian K., married to Martha (Warner) of Mount Wolf, PA. Charles is survived by brother, James, and sister, Audrey Wirfel, both of New Germany and sister-in-law Marie Henry, Delaware. Grandchildren: Melissa Mackerley, Lancaster; Stacy Wright (Patrick), Camp Hill; Matthew Reddinger & wife Michelle (Nolt), Leola; Sarah Degenhardt, Mount Wolf, PA; Aaron Henry & wife Kelsey (Cree), Glendale; Cory Henry and wife Katie (Gantz) of Chambersburg and Keith Henry, Mt. Airy, MD. Great grandchildren: Ian and Sean Mackerley, Shaelyn & Ella Grace McKee, Italia & Hawthorne Degenhardt, Blaire & Reed Henry. Charles was a 1942 graduate of Conemaugh High School, and a Veteran of The United States Navy. He served during World War II. He was schooled as an Electrician. His tour of duty took him across the Pacific and to the Philippines, Admiraldy Islands and Brisbane, Australia. In Brisbane, he made repairs on the submarine fleet. He also served aboard the USS Copahee. Upon his return to the United States, he furthered his education through ICS courses and went on to retire as the Assistant General Foreman of the Electrical Department of Bethlehem Steel Company, Johnstown. He was a faithful member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundy's Corner PA, Knights of Columbus, Vinco Senior Center and American Legion. Charles enjoyed music, dancing, gardening and bowling, he loved fishing and hunting with his sons and grandsons. Private graveside service will be held at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Geistown, with Fr. Andrew Draper TOR. Military graveside rite by Menoher VFW, Post 155. The family is being served by Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh. Due to current public health concerns, a Memorial Mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church will be held at later date. Online condolences may be posted at www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
