Charles O. Gilman Jr.

Gilman Jr. – Charles O., 70, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2022. Born on December 13, 1951 in Johnstown, son of the late Charles O. Sr. and Vivian L. (Martin) Gilman.

He is survived by his loving children, Charles P. Gilman, married to Margaret Murphy, Silver Springs, MD, Amy L. Gilman, wife of Stuart Serles, Orlando, FL; grand-dogs, Louie, Bean and Bubbies; sisters, Susan Birtle and Sharon (Doug) Heider, all of Johnstown; brothers, Martin Gilman, Johnstown and several nieces and nephews.

Charles was a 1970 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. He was a proud US Coast Guard Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Charles retired from the United States Post Office. He loved watching the Steelers and the Pirates, but most of all spending time with his family.

Family and friends will be received from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private Committal will be at Richland Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family requests that social distancing and masks be worn at the funeral home.
