Charles R. Boyer

Boyer, Charles R. “Charley” 71, of Salix. Died Dec. 15, 2014, at home. Born Feb. 12, 1943, in Johnstown. Son of the late Harold S. “Bill” and Helen Jane (Wilson) Boyer.  Also, preceded in death by daughter Dana L. Boyer; and father and mother in law, Donald and Marie Hostetler. Survived by wife of 35 years, Marian R. (Hostetler) Boyer; daughters Jamie (Christine) Boyer; grandchildren, Harper Lynn, Levi Robert, and Luke Charles Boyer. Brother of William H. (Phyllis) Boyer, Sally J. (Douglas) Oakley; Brother in law of D. Roger (Nancy), John B. (Lynn), Jeffrey W., and Joel D. Hostetler. Also numerous special nieces, nephews, and friends. Member of the Salix Bethel United Methodist Church. Graduate of Westmont High School, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, and Duquesne University.  He was a lifelong educator in both school and industrial settings. Charley’s true passion was his family and his love of horses and farming. Friends received from 3-7 PM Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Lane, Richland and 9 to time of service at 10 AM Saturday at Salix Bethel United Methodist Church.
